In order to change the owner role of an account, certain conditions must be met.
👤 Is the current owner still with the company?
Only users with the "Owner" role can:
- assign the owner role to another user
- change the owner role in a user profile
➡️ If two people have the "Owner" role, the second owner can make the change directly.
❗The current owner is no longer with the company?
If the current owner has already left the company and no other employee has an owner role, it is possible to set up a new owner in the account:
1. If you still have access to the former owner's e-mail inbox
If you have access to the e-mail inbox of the former owner, you can simply reset his password and log in as this owner in order to assign the owner role to another user.
2. If you don't have any access to the former owner's e-mail inbox
In this case, absence.io has to assign the owner role accordingly:
- Please send an official e-mail to support@absence.io
- Send it in copy (CC) to the previous owner
- Specify who should receive the new owner role
Important notes
- If there is no other owner in the company and you would like absence.io to make the role change for you, we require an approval from your upper management. It has to be a person whose identity can be verified independently from us before we realizing the modification.
- To do so, we would need to get access to your company account. Please find here the instructions on how to give us access.
